Car Insurance

Alright… We’re sure you’re already familiar with this type of insurance—it’s one of the most common forms of coverage.

However, let’s add a little extra to what you already know!

How many types of insurance packages exist?

Countless! But here’s a basic breakdown:

  • Basic Coverage: Covers only damages you may cause to third parties.
  • Extended Coverage: Includes Basic Coverage plus protection against fire, theft, glass breakage, and other external factors.
  • Comprehensive Coverage (also known as “full” or “collision coverage”): In addition to the above, it also covers damages to your own vehicle, even if you were at fault in an accident.

Regardless of which coverage you choose, we highly recommend adding Roadside Assistance—just in case!

Enjoy the journey… responsibly!

Choosing the right coverage and taking advantage of available discounts depends on your personal needs and financial situation. Car insurance may seem complicated, but with the right guidance, you can take control of both your safety and your insurance choices.

Useful Questions

How do I determine the insured value of my car??

The insured value is the maximum compensation you can receive, so it should be adequate and in line with the market value of your car. For its determination, we recommend consulting an allsafe specialist.

Can I lend my vehicle to a friend??

You can, as long as they have the appropriate driving license. Any driver under the age of 23 or with less than one year of driving experience must be declared to the insurance company. This may result in an additional premium charge.

I had a breakdown/accident and don’t know where to take my car?

Roadside assistance companies usually provide service only once per incident. Therefore, if you happen to be stranded, take your vehicle directly to your trusted repair shop and not to your home, as you likely won’t be eligible for a second transport for the same incident. Alternatively, you have the right to leave it under the custody of the roadside assistance company until you decide where to take it.

What is the ``excess`` (deductible)??

The excess is the amount that will not be covered by your insurance policy in the event of a claim. This amount is predefined in certain coverages (e.g., comprehensive insurance), is fixed (e.g., €400), and is specified in your insurance policy.

I bought a used vehicle and its insurance expires in three months. Am I insured??

The insurance does NOT transfer with the vehicle. If you bought a used car, you must immediately insure it in your name. Also, if you sold your old vehicle, you can cancel the insurance policy and receive a refund of any unused premiums.

I’m not using the vehicle. Why should I insure it??

By law, every vehicle that is registered (has license plates) is required to be insured. If the vehicle is not in use, we recommend officially placing it in ``immobilization`` status. Otherwise, you risk fines and legal penalties.

My insurance policy expired today. How long am I covered??

You are NOT covered, as insurance policies expire exactly at the hour and day of their expiration. If you find that you are uninsured (check here), contact us immediately so we can insure your vehicle.

Why choose you and not buy insurance online, which is cheaper??

Since insurance companies have fixed pricing, the low cost “online” is generally a myth. Moreover, insurance policies inherently contain terms and conditions that only a specialized advisor can thoroughly understand. Finally, who wouldn’t want advice and support from a “trusted person” during the critical moment of a claim?

I have a trailer. What do I need to do regarding its insurance??

According to recent legislation, trailers are required to have their own registration number and must be insured separately from your vehicle.
